Home Maintenance

  • Always use a sulfate-free, non alcohol, and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner. Condition only below the bonds.
  • If your roots are starting to get greasy, make sure that you wash your hair as soon as you can to prevent slipping.
  • Wash your hair in the shower instead of the bath to prevent tangling.
  • Wash your hair gently, ensuring you don’t scrub the bonds. If you will be using a conditioner, smooth it over your hair instead of rubbing it in.
  • Never go to bed with your hair wet, always blow dry after wash and  place your hair in a loose ponytail or braid after it has dried.
  • If you choose to air dry, make sure that your roots are completely dry within 30 minutes of your shower.
  • Do not flip your hair extensions upside down when drying them. Only start using a Paddle brush to dry your hair once at least 80% of your hair is dry.
  • Brush at least your hair once a day especially before bed. Hold the roots of your hair with one hand while brushing in a downward motion with the other. Wear a Silk or Satin Head Tie or Bonnet at night to prevent dryness and tangle.
  • Try to not stay in salty and chlorinated water for long periods and wash and dry your hair immediately after as this will eat away the bonds that are holding in the hair extensions.
  •  If you will be using a blow dryer, straightener or curling iron, a heat protection spray is a must.
  • Oil Treatments such as argan oil etc. are great and adds moisture to your extensions.
  • Before going into Saltwater, soak your hair thoroughly with clean water. Then apply a Conditioner or spray some  Leave-In Conditioner onto your hair. Focus on the ends for the most protection. Then put your hair in a ponytail or loose braid, and enjoy! Don’t forget to wash your hair thoroughly with Shampoo and Conditioner as soon as you get out of the water. Much like chlorine, saltwater has a tendency to strip hair of its’ moisture, natural oils and pigments so the same precautions should be taken. Though the sea can be more aggressive on the hair, so in addition, one should also apply a Leave-In Conditioner after getting out of saltwater. This should restore most of the healthy oils that the sea will absorb.
  • Blondes are more likely to experience this irregularity; that being said, there are plenty of products to combat brassiness or pinkish tones. A silver or purple shampoo should is your best friend! As soon as you notice the color lifting from your hair, wash your hair with one of these and your hair should be back to its’ ashy, platinum or icy shade in no time!
  • Remember, hair extensions require maintenance. The better you take care of your hair, the longer it will last.
